You will find that our classes are all friendly and welcoming with a mixture of ages from teens to people of 70 or even 80 years old!
I have been teaching the Pilates exercise techniques for over 9 years; undertaking an instructor and personal training course in my early forties. I wanted to run my own business and like many people wanted this to fit around my family but I also wanted to do something I felt passionate about and enjoyed. I can honestly say I absolutely love my work and haven’t looked back since.
Pilates is part of my daily life and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I find teaching and training both on an individual basis and to my group classes such a pleasure; it so rewarding helping people quite literally to feel good about themselves through this unique form of exercise!
One of the reasons I am so passionate about this form of exercise is that anyone can do it, whatever age, whatever ability and even with or recovering from injuries. The way I devise and instruct weekly classes is to be fully inclusive, meaning that all levels can participate from beginners to intermediates through to Advanced and Super Advanced. Working as a Pilates Instructor is a customer focussed profession and I meet people from all walks of life, all ages and with different objectives and aims. Everyone is on a journey of discovery and development and I not only see their body shape, posture and fitness improve, I also notice people’s diets improve as they become body aware. Pilates focuses the mind as well as the body and helps people overcome hurdles in their lives, improving mental health as well as physical health and well-being.
I started going to Lisa’s classes a little over a year ago – I had never tried Pilates (or anything similar) before. Lisa’s classes are well structured and varied, so you never get bored. Although there were Advanced Pilates students in the class, Lisa breaks down EVERY exercise to all levels- with real focus on the novice attendees.
Lisa instantly makes you feel relaxed with her friendly and upbeat attitude.
Pilates is a great way to improve your core strength – before starting I struggled to lift my upper body up from laying down, I had zero core strength, now I am practising exercises at an advanced level. My body shape changed really quickly, and so did my flexibility. But the results don’t end with the results you see with your body- really the best part is having time out, and to enjoy just how relaxing and fun the class can be.
Lisa is a really fantastic teacher, she makes her classes so enjoyable and fun.
It’s truly addictive, and I really believe Lisa’s classes are the best out there.
I have been attending Lisa’s Pilates classes since January 2011 and have really felt the benefits. I am stronger and more supple than I have been for years and do not get back aches anymore. Lisa explains all the exercises extremely clearly and gives varying degrees of difficulty to embrace each person’s age, ability and experience. The classes are fun and a very reasonable price. Lisa varies the equipment each month to ensure a different approach and dynamic to each Pilates exercise. I try and attend three classes a week and hate it if I miss any.
I started Simply Pilates a couple of years ago and go twice weekly. Lisa's classes are always fun and varied for all levels I definitely feel the benefits of this type of exercise- toned, energised and much fitter without the need of using a gym to work out.
I started doing Pilates in 2012 with Lisa, having never tried Pilates before. I had pretty poor flexibility and my body definition was non existent, within weeks I started noticing a difference and became advanced quickly with great teaching from Lisa. I became pregnant in September 2015 and continued doing Pilates twice a week till I was 32 weeks, Lisa with her years of experience knew exactly what I could do and couldn't do. I thank her, as I believe Pilates helped me have such a quick labour due to having a strong core and using the breathing techniques. Within 12 weeks I was back at Pilates and working on getting my body back.
Lisa is a fantastic teacher – definitely the best around – she is fun, friendly and has the ability to connect with all age groups – from teens to the very elderly. She clearly loves her work and this shows through her passion for keeping classes fresh and inspirational. Having tried Steps, Aerobics, Spinning, Circuit Training, Yoga and dancing over the years , Pilates hits the spot for me – there’s no doubt about it I’m addicted!
